gele paprika soep



















































English version of the recipe (yellow pepper soup):

- grill 4 yellow peppers in the oven on 200 C degrees for 30 minutes.
- put the peppers in a kettle and let them rest for 20 minutes.
- cut two shallot and one clove of garlic in small pieces and fry in olive oil.
- add one teaspoon of cummin.
- cut the peppers in small slices and add to the shallots and garlic.
- add 600 ml water and 3 teaspoons of yeast-free stock*.
- boil for 10 minutes.
- puree with a food processor.- stir and add the pepper and salt to taste.

JustEat foodblogs
































Dit weekend kreeg ik het leuke bericht van JustEat dat mijn blog in de top 50 staat van beste foodblogs van 2012! Dit vind ik extra leuk omdat dit blog pas sinds 3 maanden bestaat en binnen komt op plek 35, een hele leuke stimulans en helemaal zo vlak voor kerst. De lijst kun je HIER bekijken.

This weekend I received the nice message that my blog is in the top 50 of best foodblogs of 2012 of JustEat! This is surprising because this blog only exist since 3 months and enters the list at number 35. A very nice christmas surprise and stimulation. You can see the whole list HERE.

chocolade!



























Ik heb vandaag voor de eerste keer geprobeerd mijn eigen suiker-en zuivelvrije chocolade te maken en ik ben heel erg blij met het resultaat! Het is heel makkelijk en het smaakt ook nog eens super lekker. Het recept is alleen een beetje "op gevoel" en een beetje afhankelijk van hoeveel je wilt maken of hoe sterk je de chocolade wilt hebben. Dus:
smelt de kokosnootolie au bain marie ( ik heb ongeveer 3 tot 4 grote EL gebruikt). Als het gesmolten is meng er (raw) cacao poeder door: doe dit naar eigen smaak/sterkte. Zoet het daarna met bijvoorbeeld agavesiroop, ook naar eigen smaak. Verdeel het mengsel daarna over siliconen ijsblokjes vormpjes, daar kun je ze later makkelijk uit drukken. Vul de chocolade met dingen die je lekker vind zoals rozijnen, cranberries of noten. Laat zeker 3 uur hard worden in de koelkast. Geniet ervan!

For the first time I tried to make my own sugar-and milk-free chocolate and I'm very happy with the result! It's very easy to do and it taste delicious. The recipe depends a bit how you like it or how much chocolate you want to make, so:
melt coconutoil in a bain-marie (a double boiler), I used about 3 to 4 tablespoons. If the coconutoil is melted add (raw) cocoa to it and agave-syrup to sweeten it up. Both things depend how strong or how sweet you want it to be... I used silicon ice-cupe forms for the chocolate, so you get nice, small pieces and it's easy to get the chocolate out of. You can fill the chocolate with all kinds of stuff you like: raisins, cranberries or nuts. Put the chocolate at least 3 hours in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

kruidkoek


















































English version of the recipe :
(spiced cake):

- preheat the oven at 175C degrees.
- melt 25 gr. vegetable margarine* and add a sniff of salt, 5 tablespoons of concentrade appeljuice* and the shred of one lemon.
- whip one egg to it.
- add 100 gr. wheat flower, 100 gr. brown wheatmeal, 3 teaspoons wine-stone baking powder*2 teaspoons cinamon, 2 teaspoons cardemom, 2 teaspoons ground ginger, 1 teaspoon ground clove, 1 teaspoon nutmeg.
- add at the same time bit by bit 1,5 dl ricemilk.
- oil the cake tin and cover with wheatmeal and add the dough.
- ready in about 45 minutes.

pepernootjes


















































English version of the recipe :
(small spiced/gingerbread biscuit, in The Netherlands we eat them in the beginning of december when we celebrate St. Nicolas, not Santa Claus!)

- preheat the oven at 170C degrees.
- knead the following ingredients to a dough: 250 gr. wheat flower, 125 gr. vegetable margarine*, 200 gr. apple or rice-molasses*, 2 teaspoons cinamon, 2 teaspoons cardemom, 2 teaspoons ground ginger, 1 teaspoon ground clove, 1 teaspoon nutmeg.
- make little bals of the dough en put them on a baking try, covered with bakery paper.
- ready in about 12 minutes.

nieuwe rubriek: favouriten!





























Vanaf vandaag start ik een nieuwe rubriek: elke maand een post over iets waar ik blij of enthousiast van word. Nog op de valreep in november: agave-siroop! Ik heb het nog niet gevonden in de nederlandse natuurwinkels bij mij in de buurt en aangezien ik dicht in de buurt van Duitsland woon, haal ik het daar. Het is een super natuurlijke vervanger voor suiker. Natuurlijk gaat het ook met bijvoorbeeld appeldiksap, maar agave is kleurloos en misschien net ietsje zoeter.

Today I'll start a new category: every month a post about something I like or makes me happy. Just in time for november: agave-syrup! I can't find this product in the shops where I live in the Netherlands but I live close to the border of Germany so I'll make a stop there. This is a very nice way to replace sugar, it's a natural juice. Of course you can use the concentrated apple juice but the agave-syrup is colourlessness and  maybe it's just a bit sweeter.

Mijn "abrikozen couscous" recept is geplaatst op de site van "they draw and cook".  Dit is een site met allemaal recepten van kunstenaars over de hele wereld die recpten tekenen. Je vind er de meest geweldige dingen. Ik zal zeker vaker voor ze gaan tekenen. Hier is mijn recept in het engels te zien, volgende week plaats ik het hier in het nederlands. rijstebrij





































English version of the recipe (rice pudding):
- bring 1 liter rice-milk to boil, together with 150 gr. basmati rice and one stick of cinamon
- let simmer for 30 minutes, stir regularly.
- add 80 gr. agave syrop* and simmer for another 10 minutes.
- if the pudding gets to thick, add some more milk.
- good with red fruits.

rijst met spinazie



















































English version of the recipe (rice with spinach):
- cook 150 gr. rice in salted water.
- boil 400 gr. wild spinach in it's own moisture down in 4 minutes, let in drain.
- fry one union, one red chili and one clove of garlic (garlicpress) in olive oil.
- cut one red pepper in small pieces and add to the union, chili and garlic.
- add the spinach and the rice.
- bake 60 gr. pine tree kernels in a pan in 3 minutes auburn, without oil!
- stir and add the kernels and salt to taste.
- as finishing touch add 100 gr. feta cheese.

oogst / crop


























De paprika oogst van dit jaar uit onze eigen tuinkas. Dit jaar hebben we niet zoveel paprika's en vooral: ze zijn erg laat rood geworden. In het begin van deze week heb ik de meeste pas uit de kas gehaald.

This year's pepper crop from our own garden house. This year the pepper crop was a bit dissapointing and it took until the beginning of this week before most of them turned red.

mexicaanse schotel


















































English version of the recipe:
- preheat the oven at 150C degrees.
- fry one union, one red chili and one clove of garlic (garlicpress) in olive oil.
- cut one red pepper in small pieces and add to the union, chili and garlic.
- cut 4 tomatoes in pieces and add together with 375 gr. corn to the union and pepper.
- add some salt en heat for 5 minutes.
- take a dish (with a high brim) that you can put in the oven, together with 175 gr. tortilla crisps and 150 gr. gratet goat's milk cheese.
- put some of the crisps in the dish, then some of the vegetables and then some cheese, repeat that 3 times so you get layers. End with some of the crisps and on top some of the cheese.
- put the dish in the oven, ready in about 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the crisps become soft.
- nice with a green salade.

appelcake

















































English version of the recipe:
- preheat the oven at 175C degrees.
- mix 125 gr. vegetable margarine* with 5 tablespoons of concentrade appeljuice*.
- whip 4 eggs to the mix, one by one.
- add 250 gr. of brown wheatmeal, 1 tablespoon cinamon, 2 teaspoons cardemom, 1 tablespoon wine-stone baking powder*, one sniff of salt.
- peel two apples and cut them in small pieces, add together with 60 gr. raisins to the dough.
- oil the cake tin and cover with wheatmeal and add the dough.
- ready in about 35 minutes.

ratatouille



















































English version of the recipe:
For 2 persons:
- cut one red pepper and one green pepper in small pieces, do the same with one courgette and 4 tomatoes.
- fry one union and one clove of garlic (garlicpress) in 3 tablespoons of olive oil and add the vegetables.
- add one teaspoon of thyme, half a tuft of parsley and one laurel leaf.
- stir and add salt and pepper to taste.
- let the vegetables and the herbes simmer for 15 minutes.
- remove the laurel leave.
- good with rice.

super easy pasta

















































English version of the recipe:
For 2 persons:
- cook 175 gr. pasta in salted water.
- fry one union, half of one red chili and one clove of garlic (garlicpress).
- cut one red pepper in small pieces and add to the union, chili and garlic.
- cut 8 green olives in small slices and add to the pepper.
- add pasta to the vegetables, together with one teaspoon of dried basil and one teaspoon of oregano.
- stir and add salt to taste.
- as finishing touch add 100 gr. feta cheese.
